元徴用工、協議加速で一致　日韓次官

　外務省の森健良事務次官は２５日、韓国の趙賢東外務第１次官と東京都内で会談した。両氏は元徴用工問題の解決に向け、協議を加速し外交当局間で緊密な意思疎通を続けることで一致。森氏は「日韓関係を健全な関係に戻し、さらに発展させることが必要だ」と伝えた。
　韓国側によると、被告の日本企業に命じた賠償の支払いを第三者が引き受けるなど、韓国政府が検討している解決策について協議した。弾道ミサイル発射を繰り返す北朝鮮への対応で、日韓、日米韓の緊密な連携も確認した。
　森氏はこれに先立ち、米国のシャーマン国務副長官とも都内で会談した。中国の習近平政権が３期目に入ったことを踏まえ、同国を巡る諸課題に緊密に連携して対応することで一致。シャーマン氏は「日本防衛に対する米国の揺るぎないコミットメント」を改めて表明した。米主導の新たな経済圏構想「インド太平洋経済枠組み（ＩＰＥＦ）」を巡る協力も確認した。（2022/10/25-22:50）

Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Takeo Mori and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman agreed at their meeting in Tokyo on Tuesday that their countries will work closely together to tackle China-related issues.
   The agreement came as Chinese leader Xi Jinping is entering his third term in power.
   During the meeting, Sherman reiterated the United States' unwavering commitment to Japan's defense.
   The two sides also confirmed that their countries will cooperate over the U.S.-led Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
   Later in the day, Mori held talks with South Korean First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Hyun-dong. They agreed that the two countries will accelerate talks to resolve the wartime labor issue and that their diplomatic authorities will keep in close contact.
