為替介入、効果は一時的　消費者信頼感を懸念―ＩＭＦ審査団長

　【ワシントン時事】国際通貨基金（ＩＭＦ）の対日審査団長を務めるラニル・サルガド氏は１２日、日本政府・日銀が９月に外国為替市場で約２４年ぶりに実施した円買い・ドル売り介入について、急激な円安を是正する効果は「一時的なものにとどまる」との見解を示した。
　サルガド氏は記者団に対し、世界が不況になると安全資産の円が買われて円高が進行する傾向があったものの、最近は各国の金融政策の違いを背景に円売りが加速していると説明。政府・日銀が円安阻止の介入に踏み切ったのは「消費者信頼感に及ぼす影響を懸念したためだ」と分析した。（2022/10/13-23:52）

Japan's yen-buying currency market intervention conducted for the first time in 24 years last month will be effective only for a "short period," International Monetary Fund official Ranil Salgado has said.
   Salgado, head of the IMF's mission to Japan, said that "intervention can slow the pace (of the yen's weakening), but it tends to be only for a short period."
   He told reporters Wednesday that the yen was previously bought as a safe haven currency when global recessions happened.
   But recently, yen selling is accelerating due to monetary policy differences between Japan and other countries, Salgado added.
   The Japanese government and the Bank of Japan conducted the yen-buying operation last month because "they were also concerned that the pace in which the currency was adjusting was affecting confidence in Japan," he said.
