不測事態備え万全態勢を　イランの米軍攻撃受け―安倍首相

　安倍晋三首相は８日、イランがイラクの駐留米軍基地を攻撃したことを受け、関係府省庁に対し、関係国と連携してあらゆる外交努力を尽くすとともに、不測の事態に備えて万全の態勢を取るよう指示した。加えて(1)情報収集・分析に総力を挙げ、国民に迅速・的確な情報提供を行う(2)邦人保護に全力を挙げる―ことも求めた。
　政府は同日、国家安全保障会議（ＮＳＣ）の４大臣会合を首相官邸で開き、中東情勢について協議した。菅義偉官房長官はこの後の記者会見で「深く憂慮している。全ての関係者に緊張緩和のための外交努力を尽くすことを求める」と改めて強調。海上自衛隊の中東派遣について「現時点で方針に変更はなく、現地の情勢を見極めつつ、準備に万全を期したい」と述べた。
　情勢緊迫化を受け、政府内では１１～１５日の首相の中東３カ国歴訪を見合わせるべきではないかとの声も出ている。菅長官は会見で「現地の情勢を見極めながら判断したい」と語った。（2020/01/08-12:39）

Abe Orders Officials to Be Prepared for Middle East Contingencies

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday instructed government officials to be fully prepared for every possible contingency amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
   Abe called on officials to make all-out diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the region in close cooperation with related countries.
   He also urged officials to provide the public with necessary information swiftly and correctly and to protect Japanese nationals overseas.
   The prime minister issued the instruction following Iran's attacks on U.S. military bases in Iraq.
   "We're extremely concerned" about the regional situation, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a press conference after a ministerial meeting of the National Security Council.
