安倍氏追悼演説、来月５日で調整　臨時国会は３日間―自・立国対委員長

　自民党の高木毅国対委員長は２０日、立憲民主党の馬淵澄夫国対委員長と国会内で会談し、故安倍晋三元首相の追悼演説を、８月５日に衆院本会議で行うことを提案した。馬淵氏は持ち帰った。
　高木氏は、先の参院選を受けた臨時国会の会期を、８月３～５日の３日間とする方針も伝達。馬淵氏は、物価高や新型コロナウイルス感染拡大への対応、安倍氏の「国葬」などを議論するため、８月末までの会期を求め折り合わなかった。
　会談後、高木氏は安倍氏の国葬について、記者団に「立法府で議論するのはなじまないのではないか」と指摘。一方、馬淵氏は「国葬が適切なのかどうかも含めた議論がなされるべきだ。大幅な会期を要求する」と強調した。（2022/07/20-18:10）

The ruling Liberal Democratic Party proposed on Wednesday that a memorial speech at the Diet, Japan's parliament, for the late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe be delivered on Aug. 5.
   LDP Diet affairs head Tsuyoshi Takagi made the proposal in a meeting with Sumio Mabuchi, his counterpart in the leading opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
   Takagi also informed the CDP of a plan to hold an extraordinary Diet session following the July 10 election for the House of Councillors, the upper chamber, for three days from Aug. 3.
   Mabuchi said that the session should be held until the end of August to discuss soaring prices, responses to the novel coronavirus resurgence and a planned state funeral for Abe, who was fatally shot during a stump speech for the Upper House election in the western city of Nara on July 8.
