国内建築ガラス事業を統合へ　首位ＡＧＣと３位セントラル硝子

　国内板ガラス首位のＡＧＣ（旧旭硝子）と３位のセントラル硝子は９日、住宅などに使われる国内建築用ガラス事業を統合することで基本合意したと発表した。２０２０年末の統合完了を目指す。事業統合で効率化を進め、収益基盤を安定させるのが狙い。
　具体的な内容は両社で今後協議する。国内の生産・営業拠点などの統廃合を検討し、２０年６月をめどに統合形態を決めたい考えだ。
　板ガラスの国内市場は現在、日本板硝子を含めた３社でほぼ分け合う形となっている。ただ、建築用板ガラスは、人口減少に伴う新設住宅向け需要の縮小で厳しい事業環境が続く見通し。海外でも勢力を拡大する中国企業が脅威となりつつある。（2019/12/09-20:49）

AGC Inc. , leader in the Japanese sheet glass industry, and the third-ranking player, Central Glass Co. , said Monday they have reached a basic agreement to integrate their domestic architectural glass businesses.
The two companies aim to stabilize their earnings through the integration, which they hope will be completed by the end of 2020. Details, such as consolidation of production and marketing bases, will be worked out in June.
