ＮＨＫ、ネット事業費縮小　ＢＳ、３チャンネルに集約―業務肥大化批判に対応

　ＮＨＫは９日、テレビ番組を放送と同時にインターネットで配信する「常時同時配信」の実現に向け、ネット関連事業費を縮小すると発表した。現在４チャンネルあるＢＳ放送を３チャンネルに削減するなど、業務効率化や企業統治改革を進める方針も表明。業務の肥大化への批判に対応する一方、常時同時配信に理解を求めた。こうした考え方を８日に総務省に報告した。
　ＮＨＫは１０月、常時同時配信を含むネット活用業務の認可を高市早苗総務相に申請。これに対し総務省は、ＮＨＫに費用の管理方法などを見直し、８日までに対応を報告するよう求めていた。ＮＨＫは申請した業務計画を月内に修正する見通し。同省は一般からの意見募集の結果も踏まえ、来年１月中旬までに常時同時配信を含む計画を認可するかどうか判断する。（2019/12/09-21:02）

Japan Broadcasting Corp., or NHK, said Monday that it will cut its budget for online services including simultaneous broadcasting of television programs on the internet, as requested by the communications ministry.
   The public broadcaster said it will stick to the current ceiling on its online budget of 2.5 pct of its viewing fee revenues for fiscal 2020, which begins next April.
   NHK also said it will reduce the number of its satellite TV channels from the current four to three, as part of efforts to streamline operations.
   The broadcaster initially aimed to start online simulcasting next March but now plans to start it in earnest in April following a trial during fiscal 2019.
   NHK said it reported these policies to the ministry on Sunday.
