両陛下、宮城の海づくり大会に　オンラインで、被災者とも懇談

　天皇、皇后両陛下は３日、宮城県石巻市で開かれた第４０回全国豊かな海づくり大会に、皇居・御所からオンラインで出席された。新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響で開催が１年延期されていた。
　天皇陛下は午前の式典で、１０年前の東日本大震災に触れ、「震災後、皇后と共に訪れた被災地の光景は、今も目に焼き付いて、私たちの脳裏を離れることはありません」と言及。「震災を乗り越えて、初めて大会が開催されることは誠に意義深く、復興に向けた地域の人々のこれまでのたゆみない努力と関係者の尽力に深く敬意を表します」と述べた。
　午後には稚魚の放流行事が行われ、誓いの言葉を宣言した小学生に、陛下は「海を大切に思う気持ちがよく伝わってきました」と声を掛けた。放流の前には、航空自衛隊松島基地のブルーインパルスが、上空で祝賀飛行を披露した。
　両陛下は大会後、「みやぎ東日本大震災津波伝承館」（同市）を画面越しに視察し、被災者らと懇談。震災後、保育園を併設した水産加工会社を営む女性（５７）に、皇后さまは「いい取り組みをなさっていますね」と話し掛けた。懇談後、女性は「もっと精力的に活動していきたい」と感激した様子だった。（2021/10/03-20:10）

Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako on Sunday attended the 40th national marine festival in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, online.
   The festival was put off by one year due to the novel coronavirus crisis.
   Speaking from their residence at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Emperor Naruhito said he clearly remembers the destruction of the Tohoku northeastern Japan region including Miyagi caused by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that he witnessed with the Empress when they visited Tohoku just after the disaster.
   It is significant to hold the festival for the first time in the prefecture by overcoming the damage from the disaster, the Emperor said.
   He expressed his deep respect for the efforts made by local residents toward postdisaster reconstruction and by people related to the festival.
