岸田・高市氏、核燃サイクル推進主張　河野・野田氏は夫婦別姓訴え―自民総裁選

　自民党総裁選の４候補は１９日、ＮＨＫの討論番組にそろって出演した。争点の原発政策をめぐり、岸田文雄前政調会長（６４）と高市早苗前総務相（６０）は核燃料サイクルの推進を主張。選択的夫婦別姓制度については、河野太郎規制改革担当相（５８）と野田聖子幹事長代行（６１）が導入を訴えた。
　岸田氏は「サイクルを止めると高レベル廃棄物の処理が問題になる。維持すべきだ」と述べ、高市氏は「原発を使い続ける限りサイクルを止めてしまうわけにはいかない」と指摘。両氏は小型炉や核融合炉に触れ、新増設にも前向きな考えを示した。野田氏は「電力の安定供給がマストだ」と同調した。
　河野氏は、サイクルの是非には直接答えず、既に核のごみが積み上がっているとして、「使用済み核燃料をどこで処分するか場所を選定しなければいけない」と語った。その上で、再生可能エネルギーの拡大に向け「政府が積極的に投資する必要がある」と強調した。
　夫婦別姓に関し、河野氏は賛成だと表明し「社会的な問題で意見がまとまらないものは党議拘束を外して採決する必要がある」などと述べた。野田氏は「選択的夫婦別姓を進めてきた」とアピールし、ＬＧＢＴなど性的少数者に対する理解増進法案についても「認めるという話ではない。存在していることが大事だ」と賛同した。
　岸田氏は「実際に困っている人がいる」との認識を示す一方、「複数の子どもがいた場合、いつ誰が姓を決めるのか私自身の整理が付いていない。議論したい」と現時点では消極的な姿勢を示した。高市氏は、「通称（旧姓）の使用を拡大してきた。不便は随分解消されている」と語った。（2021/09/19-22:13）

Two of the four candidates for president of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party Sunday called for promoting the country's nuclear fuel cycle.
   "If the cycle is stopped, we'll need to consider how to deal with high-level radioactive waste. It should be maintained," Fumio Kishida, former chairman of the LDP's Policy Research Council, said in a televised debate among the candidates.
   Former internal affairs minister Sanae Takaichi said, "We shouldn't stop the cycle as long as we use nuclear power."
   Both Kishida and Takaichi showed a positive attitude toward building new nuclear reactors.
   Regulatory reform minister Taro Kono made no direct mention of the nuclear fuel cycle. He said, "We need to select where to dispose of spent nuclear fuel." He called for greater government spending to promote the use of renewable energy sources.
