２０年度医療費、４年ぶり減　マスク定着、受診控えで―厚労省

　厚生労働省は３１日、病気やけがの治療で２０２０年度に医療機関に支払われた概算の医療費（速報値）について、前年度比３．２％減の４２兆１６４８億円だったと発表した。医療費が減少するのは４年ぶりで、減少幅は過去最大。新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で、マスクの着用や手洗いが定着しインフルエンザなどの患者が減ったほか、コロナ感染を懸念した受診控えも影響した。
　概算医療費は、社会保険料や税金、患者の窓口負担分を集計したもので、全額自己負担の医療や労災などは含まない。医療費全体を表す国民医療費の約９８％に相当する。
　医療費の内訳は、「入院」が３．４％減の１７兆４９６億円、外来受診や往診などの「入院外」が４．４％減の１４兆２０７２億円。「歯科」は０．８％減、「調剤」は２．７％減だった。
　疾病別では、呼吸器系疾患が２５．３％減の１兆６７２４億円。厚労省によると、インフル患者は推計で約１万４０００人と、前シーズンの約７２８万５０００人から激減した。コロナ関連は１２００億円程度だった。
　診療所での外来・往診などを診療科別に見ると、減少幅が最も大きかったのは「小児科」（２２．２％）で、「耳鼻咽喉科」（１９．７％）が続いた。インフルや風邪で受診する子どもが減り、年齢階層別でも、未就学児の医療費は１９．１％の大幅減となった。
　国民１人当たりの医療費は、１万円減の３３万５０００円。このうち、７５歳以上の後期高齢者は９２万円となり、７５歳未満（２１万９０００円）の４倍超に達した。（2021/08/31-19:02）

Medical expenses in Japan in fiscal 2020, which ended in March this year, fell a record 3.2 pct from the previous year to 42,164.8 billion yen, the health ministry said in a preliminary report Tuesday.
   The amount of money paid to medical institutions for treating diseases and injuries fell for the first time in four years, as people refrained from going to the doctor amid the spread of the novel coronavirus.
   Expenses for inpatient treatment decreased 3.4 pct to 17,049.6 billion yen and those for outpatient treatment fell 4.4 pct to 14,207.2 billion yen.
   Costs for dental patients went down 0.8 pct and drug-dispensing costs dropped 2.7 pct.
   By clinical department, pediatricians saw the largest fall of 22.2 pct in medical expenses, followed by otolaryngologists, with a 19.7 pct drop.
