エンゼルス大谷、４０号に８勝目　パイレーツの筒香は無安打―米大リーグ

　【デトロイト時事】米大リーグは１８日、各地で行われ、エンゼルスの大谷はタイガース戦に１番投手で出場し、八回に日本選手初となる４０号ソロを放ち、４打数１安打１打点、１三振だった。本塁打数は両リーグ最多で２位とは５本差。投げてはメジャー自己最長の８回を６安打１失点、８奪三振で８勝目（１敗）を挙げた。エンゼルスは３―１で勝った。
　パイレーツの筒香はドジャース戦に５番左翼で臨み、３打数無安打。チームは０―９で大敗。レッズの秋山はカブス戦の五回に代打で一ゴロ。レッズは１―７で敗れた。（2021/08/19-14:26）

Ohtani Hits 40th Homer of Season, Earns 8th Win as Pitcher

Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels of the U.S. Major League Baseball hit his MLB-leading 40th home run of the season on Wednesday.
   During the eighth inning of a game against the Detroit Tigers, Ohtani launched a solo homer, becoming the first Japanese MLB player to reach 40 home runs in a season. He received cheers and applause from both Angels and Tigers fans after the homer.
   Ohtani was also the starting pitcher of the game. He threw eight innings, his MLB career high, to pick up his eighth victory of the season. He allowed the Tigers only six hits and a run, with eight strikeouts and zero walks.
   The Angels beat the Tigers 3-1.
