濱口竜介監督らに脚本賞　「ドライブ・マイ・カー」―カンヌ映画祭

　【カンヌ（フランス南部）時事】フランスで開催された第７４回カンヌ国際映画祭で１７日夜（日本時間１８日未明）、コンペティション部門の授賞式が行われ、「ドライブ・マイ・カー」の脚本を共同で手掛けた濱口竜介監督と大江崇允さんが脚本賞を受賞した。最高賞のパルムドールはフランスの女性監督、ジュリア・デュクルノーさんの「チタン」に決まった。
　濱口監督は、今年のベルリン国際映画祭で「偶然と想像」が最高賞（金熊賞）に次ぐ審査員大賞（銀熊賞）に輝いており、世界三大映画祭で連続受賞の快挙となった。カンヌ映画祭では、２０１８年の「寝ても覚めても」以来２度目のコンペ入りで受賞を果たした。
　濱口監督は、授賞式で「最初にお礼を申し上げなければならないのは、物語を与えてくれた村上春樹さん」と語り、観客に「海の向こうにいる役者やスタッフにも、大きな拍手を送ってほしい」と呼び掛けた。
　「ドライブ・マイ・カー」は村上さんの同名短編小説を原作に、濱口監督と大江さんが独自の視点を交え脚本化。妻を亡くし喪失感にさいなまれる主人公が、ある過去を抱える寡黙な運転手の女性と出会い、自分自身を見詰め直す姿を描く。西島秀俊さんが主演を務めた。日本では８月２０日に公開予定。（2021/07/18-06:57）

Japanese movie director Ryusuke Hamaguchi and scriptwriter Takamasa Oe shared the Award for Best Screenplay for their "Drive My Car" at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
   French female director Julie Ducournau's "Titane" won the top Palme d'Or prize.
   For Hamaguchi, 42, the recognition at Cannes was the second consecutive honor at the Big Three international film festivals after he received the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for "Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy" at the Berlin International Film Festival in March.
   At Cannes, Hamaguchi entered feature film competition for the second time, after "Netemo Sametemo" (Asako I & II) in 2018.
   Drive My Car, based on the namesake short story of Japanese author Haruki Murakami, reflects unique views of Hamaguchi and Oe. In the movie, a stage actor and director who cannot overcome the loss of his wife looks back at himself after meeting a reticent woman assigned to become his chauffeur.
