研究レベル維持へ若手支援　企業資金活用し給与アップ―安倍首相

　政府は１１日、総合科学技術・イノベーション会議（議長・安倍晋三首相）を首相官邸で開いた。首相は自然科学系の研究レベルの維持・向上に向け、企業など外部資金の導入による給与水準の引き上げやポストの確保など、主に若手研究者を対象にした支援策を年内に定める方針を表明した。
　首相は「世界トップレベルの研究力を持ち続けるには若手研究者への支援強化が何より重要だ」と強調。「国内外からトップ研究者を集めるには、大学・国立研究開発法人における待遇などの横並び意識は完全に脱却する必要がある」として、世界水準の待遇を提供するよう求めた。（2019/11/11-16:56）

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday his administration will come up next month with a set of assistance measures for young natural scientists.
   "Bolstering support for young researchers is the most important thing to keep the world's highest-class research abilities in Japan," Abe said at a meeting of the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation.
   To attract the world's leading scientists to the country, the prime minister called on universities and national research institutes to compete in hiking wages and improving other work conditions by capitalizing on private-sector funds.
   Abe also underscored the importance of helping researchers concentrate on their projects without worrying about how to make living by securing posts and establishing career paths for them.
   Then he instructed ministers in charge to include concrete steps in a comprehensive package of measures to be hammered out next month to reinforce scientific research capabilities of the country and support young researchers through academia-industry collaboration.
