ワクチン接種、１７日開始　まずは医療従事者４万人―副反応追跡調査へ・新型コロナ

　新型コロナウイルスのワクチン接種が１７日、国内で始まる。薬事承認された米製薬大手ファイザー製のワクチンが、全国の国立病院など１００カ所で医療従事者約４万人を対象に先行接種される。厚生労働省はこのうち約２万人の副反応を追跡調査して結果を公表する。国は６５歳以上の高齢者について４月１日以降の接種開始を目指す。
　今回のワクチン接種は、感染症のまん延防止のため緊急に行う予防接種法上の「臨時接種」に位置付けられている。接種期間は１７日から約１年間で費用は無料。妊婦を除く１６歳以上の人は接種を受ける「努力義務」が課されるが強制ではない。
　ワクチンは原則３週間の間隔を空けて２回打つ必要がある。厚労省によると、先行接種対象の医療従事者は、接種後２８日間の体温の変化や倦怠（けんたい）感の有無などを記録してもらう。結果は定期的に厚労省に報告され、データがまとまり次第公表される。安全性に関する情報を提供し、一般の人が安心して接種を受けられるようにするのが狙いだ。
　国は、その他の医療従事者ら約３７０万人について３月中旬から接種を始める方針。高齢者約３６００万人は４月１日からの開始を目指す。その後、基礎疾患を持つ人などに順次拡大される。
　ただ、国が確保した大半の注射器では、ワクチン１瓶からの接種回数が当初予定の６回から５回に減ることが判明。先行接種の約４万人分については、６回接種できる注射器の数は足りるがその後は５回接種の注射器を使わざるを得ない。国がファイザーとの契約を基に想定した接種者数約７２００万人は減る恐れがあり、接種計画には不透明な部分も多い。
　１７日から接種が始まる東京都内の病院には１６日夕、１１７０人分のワクチンが到着した。零下７０度で保管する必要があるため、職員はワクチンを収めた容器内の温度が正常なことを確認し、慎重に搬入した。（2021/02/16-21:11）

Inoculations against the novel coronavirus in Japan will start with medical workers on Wednesday using a vaccine developed by major U.S. drugmaker Pfizer Inc.
   Some 40,000 medical workers at 100 locations, including national hospitals, around Japan will be the first to receive the vaccine, which was approved by the health ministry for use in the country on Sunday. The first batch of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Japan on Friday.
   The ministry will conduct a follow-up survey on some 20,000 of the 40,000 medical workers to check possible side effects, and the results will be released. It aims to start vaccinations for some 36 million people aged 65 or over as early as April 1.
   The coronavirus inoculations will be conducted as an extraordinary program to prevent a wide spread of the virus under the preventive vaccination law. The program will be run for about a year from Wednesday, and inoculations will be given free of charge.
   People of 16 or older, excluding expectant mothers, will be urged to get shots although the vaccinations are not compulsory. The vaccine needs to be given in two shots at intervals of three weeks, in principle.
