日韓関係の「改善重要」　米韓首脳、電話会談で一致

　【ソウル時事】バイデン米大統領は４日、韓国の文在寅大統領と電話会談を行った。元徴用工や元慰安婦問題で悪化が続く日韓関係をめぐり、両首脳は「韓日関係の改善と韓米日協力が地域内の平和と繁栄に重要だ」との認識で一致した。韓国大統領府報道官が発表した。
　１月２０日の大統領就任後、バイデン氏が文氏と電話会談するのは初めて。米韓両首脳が日韓関係修復の必要性を確認したことで、韓国側は日本との関係改善に向けた具体的な取り組みを迫られそうだ。
　会談は約３０分間行われ、文氏はバイデン氏の大統領就任を歓迎した。両首脳は米韓同盟を「朝鮮半島とインド太平洋地域の協力を超え、民主主義、人権および、多国間主義の増進に貢献する包括的な戦略同盟」として発展させることを確認した。（2021/02/04-12:46）

U.S. President Joe Biden and South Korean President Moon Jae-in agreed in telephone talks Thursday that it is important to improve Japan-South Korea ties, as well as maintain Japan-U.S.-South Korea cooperation, for regional peace and prosperity.
   The agreement came amid worsened relations between the two Asian neighbors including over the issues of wartime labor and "comfort women" wartime prostitutes.
   Following the accord, the South Korean side is expected to face pressure to take concrete actions to mend fences with Japan.
   During the talks, the two leaders also affirmed their countries' cooperation to resolve issues on North Korea, according to a South Korean presidential press secretary.
   Biden and Moon held telephone talks for the first time since Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20.
