緊急事態宣言１カ月、一定の効果　感染者数減、死者数は高止まり―新型コロナ

　２度目の緊急事態宣言が発令されてからの約１カ月間、全国で新型コロナウイルスの新規感染者数が減るなど一定の効果が見られた。しかし、死者数や重症者数は依然高水準で、医療体制は予断を許さない状況が続いている。
　全国の新規感染者数は、宣言期間初日の１月８日に７８８３人と過去最多を記録。以降は減少傾向をたどり、２月１日は１７９２人と、昨年１２月２１日以来の２０００人割れとなった。
　コロナ対策を厚生労働省に助言する専門家組織座長の脇田隆字・国立感染症研究所長は１日の会見で「緊急事態宣言以降、飲食店の営業時間短縮や不要不急の外出削減、テレワーク推奨により新規感染者数は減少した。急所を押さえた対策が一定程度の効果を発揮している」と評価した。
　全国最多の東京都の新規感染者数は、１月７日の２４４７人をピークに減少傾向。ただ、都が再発令直後に目標として掲げていた５００人を割ったのは２月１日（３９３人）の１日だけだった。
　一方で、全国の１日当たりの死者数は、再発令後も大きくは減らず、２日には１１９人と過去最多になった。
　厚労省によると、全国の重症者数は年明け以降７００人台で推移していたが、その後急増。１月１９日には１００１人となって初めて１０００人を超え、同２７日に過去最多の１０４３人に達した。
　専門家組織は１日、「重症者、死亡者数は引き続き過去最多の水準」と指摘。医療機関や福祉施設を中心としたクラスター（感染者集団）が全国で発生し、特に８０、９０代の新規感染が減らないとして今後の重症者・死者数の増加に懸念を示した。（2021/02/03-07:08）

The Japanese government's second coronavirus state of emergency has helped reduce new infection cases over the month since its start, experts say.
   However, the numbers of deaths from the novel coronavirus and severely ill COVID-19 patients remain high, keeping Japan's medical systems under severe strain.
   The nationwide daily number of new infections hit a record high of 7,883 on Jan. 8, when the second emergency began, initially covering Tokyo and three neighboring prefectures.
   It soon entered a declining trend and fell to 1,792 on Monday, slipping below 2,000 for the first time since Dec. 21 last year.
   "Since the emergency was declared, the number of new infection cases has fallen owing to shorter operating hours at restaurants and bars, reduction in nonessential and nonurgent visits outside and the recommendation to work from home," Takaji Wakita, who chairs a health ministry advisory team, told a news conference Monday.
