昨年自殺者、１１年ぶり増　コロナ影響か、女性深刻―厚労省速報値

　厚生労働省は２２日、警察庁の統計に基づく２０２０年の自殺者数（速報値）が、前年確定値より７５０人（３．７％）多い２万９１９人だったと発表した。自殺者は１０年連続で減少していたが、女性の自殺が２年ぶりに増え、男女合わせた人数はリーマン・ショック後の０９年以来１１年ぶりに増加に転じた。人口１０万人当たりの自殺者数（自殺死亡率）も１６．６人となり、１１年ぶりに増えた。
　女性の自殺増の背景には、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大による経済悪化などがあるとみられる。厚労省の担当者は「女性は健康や生活苦、家庭問題などを理由とした事例が増えている。相談窓口を拡充し、悩む人を支援機関にしっかりつなげたい」と話している。
　厚労省によると、男性の自殺者は前年比１３５人減の１万３９４３人で１１年連続で減ったが、女性は同８８５人増の６９７６人だった。（2021/01/22-10:09）

The number of people who killed themselves in Japan in 2020 came to 20,919, up 750, or 3.7 pct, from the previous year, the health ministry said Friday, citing police data.
   The annual suicide figure rose for the first time since 2009, when a financial crisis was triggered by the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
   The number of suicides per population of 100,000 stood at 16.6 for 2020, also logging the first increase in 11 years.
   While the number of men who committed suicide decreased 135 to 13,943, down for the 11th consecutive year, that of such women jumped 885 to 6,976, up for the first time in two years, according to the ministry.
   The rise in suicide cases among women apparently reflected worsened economic conditions amid the coronavirus pandemic.
