都知事「年末年始は分水嶺」　感染続けば緊急宣言要請も―新型コロナ

　東京都の小池百合子知事は３０日、記者会見を開き、新型コロナウイルスの急速な感染拡大が続いている状況を受け、「年末年始は感染拡大を食い止められるか否かの分水嶺（れい）だ」と述べ、都民に改めて不要不急の外出自粛の徹底や新年会などの会食を見送るよう求めた。「いつ感染爆発が起きてもおかしくない。ここで感染を抑えなければ、緊急事態宣言の発出を（政府に）要請せざるを得なくなる」とも言及した。
　会見に先立ち、都は新型コロナの感染状況と医療提供体制を分析するモニタリング会議を開いた。専門家は、新規感染者数の急増が続いていると指摘。現在のペースが継続すれば入院患者が確保病床を上回り、医療体制は「破綻の危機にひんする」との見解を示した。
　都内では３０日、新たに９４４人の感染を確認。１日当たりの新規感染者数（７日間平均）も、２３日時点の６１６．７人から２９日時点で７５１．０人と大幅に増加し、感染拡大に歯止めがかかっていない。入院患者も増え続け、同日時点で２２７４人となった。
　国立国際医療研究センターの大曲貴夫国際感染症センター長は会議で、新規感染者数について、現在の増加ペースが２週間続いた場合、１日約１１３６人に上るとの試算を示した。その上で、入院する感染者の割合が変わらなければ、「２週間後を待たずに確保した４０００床を超える可能性もある」との見通しを明らかにした。（2020/12/30-18:40）

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said Wednesday that the year-end and New Year period is a "crossroads" for slowing the spread of COVID-19 infections, calling on the Japanese capital's residents again to avoid going out for nonessential reasons and holding New Year parties.
   "It would be no surprise if an explosion of infections happens any time," Koike told a press conference.
   "Unless we can curb infections now, we will have no choice but to ask (the national government) to declare a state of emergency," she said.
   Prior to the press conference, the Tokyo metropolitan government held a meeting to check the epidemic situation and the state of medical services.
   At the meeting, an epidemic expert pointed to a continued surge in the daily number of new infections, warning that the capital's medical system could be on the brink of collapse if the current pace of infections continues, with hospital beds for COVID-19 patients running short.
