東洋紡、認証不正１０年超継続　事業譲り受け時に認識―調査公表

　東洋紡は２９日、電子部品に使われる樹脂商品「プラナック」をめぐり米国で安全認証を不正に取得していた問題について、外部弁護士による調査結果を公表した。プラナック事業を他社から譲り受けた際に不正を認識したにもかかわらず、社内で不正が１０年以上続けられていた。
　東洋紡は１０月、米第三者機関による認証試験に実際の商品よりも燃えにくいサンプルを提出する不正があったと発表。同社と利害関係のない弁護士に調査を依頼していた。
　プラナック事業は２０１０年３月末に印刷用インク大手のＤＩＣから譲り受けた。調査結果によると、譲渡前の交渉で東洋紡の担当事業部の責任者は認証不正を認識したにもかかわらず、上層部に報告しないまま不正を続けたという。代替品の開発を断念した２０年に入って経営幹部に報告され、不正が発覚した。（2020/12/29-18:18）

Toyobo Co. has left intact for over 10 years safety certification-linked misconduct involving its Planac resin, an investigative report showed Tuesday.
According to the report on the results of an investigation by outside lawyers, released by the chemical maker, Toyobo officials found that Planac, a polybutylene terephthalate resin used in electronic parts, passed verification tests conducted by Underwriters Laboratories, an independent U.S. body that analyzes safety data, by submitting samples that were harder to burn than products actually sold to clients, during final-stage negotiations to acquire the Planac business from major printing ink maker DIC corp. .
