ＧｏＴｏ、２８日全国停止　移動抑制へ来月１１日まで―政府

　政府の観光支援事業「Ｇｏ　Ｔｏ　トラベル」が２８日から全国で一時停止となった。来月１１日まで。新型コロナウイルスの感染急拡大を受けた対応で、帰省や旅行による人の移動を抑える。年末年始の感染状況をみながら、年明けに再開の是非を判断する。
　予約の無料キャンセルの受け付けは今月２７日で終了。その後は解約料が掛かる場合がある。
　トラベル事業は旅行代金の３５％分を割り引き、１５％分は旅先の買い物や飲食で使える「地域共通クーポン」で配布する。１１月３０日までに延べ６８５０万人が宿泊で利用。割引額は３２１５億円に上り、クーポンは今月２１日までに８４８億円を付与した。
　政府関係者は「夏は旅行控えが強かったが、東京都が加わった１０月から着実に客足が戻っていた」と話す。観光庁の宿泊旅行統計によると、日本人の国内宿泊者数は５月が前年の２割弱だったが、それ以降は増加傾向で、１０、１１月は８割台まで回復した。
　ただ、感染急拡大を受け、政府は１１月下旬以降、東京や札幌、名古屋、大阪、広島各市への旅行を支援対象から除外。苦境にあえぐ旅館やホテルの書き入れ時となる年末年始も全国停止となった。愛媛県では少なくとも２万５０００件以上の県内宿泊予約のキャンセルが発生。感染収束は見通せず、観光業者の経営環境は厳しさを増しそうだ。
　政府は当初、トラベル事業の期限を来月末と設定していたが、６月末まで延長する。２０２０年度予算の予備費と第３次補正予算案で計１兆３４３０億円超を確保している。（2020/12/28-00:14）

Japan Fully Halts Go To Travel amid Virus Surge

The Japanese government suspended its Go To Travel tourism aid program nationwide Monday to curb the movement of people during the year-end and New Year's holiday period amid a coronavirus surge.
   The suspension will run until Jan. 11. After the turn of the year, the government will decide whether to resume the travel discount program.
   Go To Travel provides discounts equivalent to 35 pct of travel costs and coupons worth 15 pct that can be used in travel destinations.
   As of Nov. 30, 68.5 million people had stayed at hotels or other accommodations using the program. The total amounts of discounts given away stood at 321.5 billion yen.
   The value of Go To Travel coupons issued reached 84.8 billion yen as of Dec. 21.
