５Ｇ普及へ空き電波活用＝通信遅延の回避狙い－総務省

　総務省の有識者会議は２８日、複数の事業者が同じ周波数の電波を共用できる仕組みを導入するよう求める提言をまとめた。時間帯によって空いている電波を、次世代通信規格「５Ｇ」サービスを提供する携帯事業者が使えるようにして、データ増大による通信遅延を回避し、安定したサービスの提供を後押しする。
　現在は、総務省から周波数の割り当てを受けた事業者が独占して使用することが多い。提言では衛星通信会社、行政機関などが電波を使用していない空き時間の活用を促している。電波の利用計画などが分かるシステムをつくり、空いている周波数を携帯事業者が利用できるようにする。（2019/10/28-17:12）

An expert panel of Japan's communications ministry proposed Monday that a system be created to allow fifth-generation mobile communications service providers to share radio frequencies for avoiding network congestion.
   Through the high-capacity, ultrafast 5G network, unprecedentedly huge volume of data would be transmitted simultaneously. As a result, there could be delays in communications, which would be fatal if they are for autonomous driving and remote medical treatment.
   Currently, specific frequencies are allocated to communications firms and other entities for their exclusive use.
   But the panel calls for making it possible for mobile service carriers to use for their 5G services frequencies allocated to satellite communications firms and administrative authorities when the frequencies are available.
   Specifically, the panel envisages a system that clearly shows when frequencies can be used for 5G mobile services.
