安倍氏「国会の信頼傷つけた」　議員辞職を否定―「桜」問題、野党は証人喚問要求

　自民党の安倍晋三前首相は２５日、衆参両院の議院運営委員会に出席し、自身の後援会主催「桜を見る会」前夜祭をめぐる首相在任中の国会答弁が誤っていたと述べ謝罪した。「国会に対する国民の信頼を傷つけることになった。全ての国会議員に深く心よりおわびする」と表明。一方、議員辞職はしない考えを示した。
　野党側は説明が不十分だとして、うその証言をすれば偽証罪に問われる証人喚問への出席などさらなる説明を求めた。安倍氏は議運委終了後、記者団に「説明責任は果たせた。来年の選挙に出馬したい」と語った。
　安倍氏は冒頭、一連の会計処理に関し「（自身が）知らない中で行われたとはいえ、道義的責任を痛感している。深く深く反省する」と語った。
　立憲民主党の辻元清美氏は、前夜祭に関する領収書や明細書を国会に提出するよう要求。安倍氏は領収書については検討する意向を示したが、明細書は「ホテルの営業上の秘密に当たる」として拒否した。
　辻元氏は「議員辞職に値する」と批判。これに対し、安倍氏は「国民の信頼回復のため、あらゆる努力を重ねる」と述べ、否定。辻元氏は「虚偽が言えない喚問を求める」と訴えた。
　立憲の黒岩宇洋氏は「（安倍氏側が前夜祭費用を補ったのは）参加者への利益供与」と非難。安倍氏は「利益供与に当たらないとの判断を捜査当局がした」とし、問題ないとの考えを強調した。
　公明党の竹谷とし子氏は、前夜祭の収支の有無を自身でホテルに確認すればよかったと指摘。安倍氏は「秘書を全面的に信頼をしていた」と釈明し、「調べていれば収支報告書の修正で（済み）問題がなかった。たいへんじくじたる思いがある」と語った。（2020/12/25-18:43）

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe apologized Friday for making false statements at the Diet, the country's parliament, over funding for dinner parties involving his supporters.
   Speaking to lawmakers, Abe admitted he made false Diet statements about the parties while in office as prime minister.
   Abe had repeatedly said his side did not make payments to cover the costs of the parties. But public prosecutors filed a summary indictment against a secretary to him on Thursday for failing to include the payments in political funds reports.
   "While it was done behind my back, I'm feeling my moral responsibility acutely," Abe said of the payments.
   "I ended up undermining the trust of the people in the Diet. I apologize sincerely and deeply to all Diet members," Abe said. But he ruled out resigning as a lawmaker.
