変異種「輸入リスク留意を」　コロナ「過去最多の水準」―厚労省助言組織

　新型コロナウイルス対策を助言する厚生労働省の専門家組織は２２日、英国などで広がる同ウイルスの変異種について「感染性が高いとの指摘があり、医療への負荷が危惧される」との見解をまとめた。国内で確認されていないとしたが、「輸入リスクについて留意が必要」と警鐘を鳴らした。
　専門家組織は「（英国など）関係国との往来や検査・モニタリングのあり方について適切な対応を速やかに行うべきだ」と強調。水際対策の強化や入国後の健康観察の徹底を国に求めた。
　座長の脇田隆字・国立感染症研究所長は「仮に変異種が見つかった場合は、通常のクラスター（感染者集団）対策と同じで濃厚接触者を追跡することになる」と述べた。
　専門家組織は全国の新規感染者数について、「増加が続き、過去最多の水準」と分析。「首都圏では東京を中心に増加が続き、関西圏、中部圏でも明らかな減少は見られない」とした上で、「大都市圏での感染が波及し、新たな地域での感染拡大も続く」と指摘した。
　一方、政府が感染拡大防止への協力を呼び掛けた１１月下旬からの「勝負の３週間」は目立った効果が見られなかったとした。飲食店の営業時間短縮が早期に要請された北海道では感染者が減ったが、首都圏や関西圏では人の移動が大きく減少しなかったことなどから、多くの地域で感染者数の増加や高止まりが続いたという。（2020/12/22-22:36）

Japan Panel Warns of Coronavirus Variant Import Risk

A Japanese health ministry advisory board Tuesday warned of the risk of the country importing a new variant of the novel coronavirus.
   The new variant is believed to be highly contagious and its spread will put heavy burdens on medical systems in Japan, the board said.
   It called for tighter entry restrictions and thorough monitoring of health conditions of people who enter Japan.
   Takaji Wakita, chair of the board and director-general of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, said that if the new variant is identified in Japan, contacts will be traced.
   The board said that the number of new coronavirus cases stays at record levels and continues rising across Japan.
