自動運転車、レベル３発売へ　ホンダ、世界初

　ホンダは１１日、高速道路などですべての運転操作をシステムに任せられる自動運転車について、国土交通省から型式指定を取得したと発表した。ホンダは高級セダン「レジェンド」に搭載し、今年度中に発売する。自動運転の「レベル３」と呼ばれる機能を搭載した自動車の実用化は世界で初めてという。
　自動運転は、機能によってレベル１～５まで５段階に分かれている。既にレベル２の自動車は販売されており、ハンドルやブレーキ、アクセルの操作が自動でできるが、運転者は常に周囲を注意しなければいけない義務を課されている。レベル３では、高速道路での渋滞時など一定の条件であれば周囲への注意義務はなくなり、運転操作をシステムに任せることができる。
　ただ、レベル３でもシステムに異常があればすぐに運転への復帰が求められるため、飲酒や居眠りなどはできない。（2020/11/11-18:25）

Honda to Launch World's 1st Level-3 Autonomous Vehicle

Japan's Honda Motor Co. said Wednesday it will launch a Level-3 automated vehicle by March 2021, becoming the world's first company to put such an automobile to the market.
The Level-3 autonomous driving technology will be installed in Honda's Legend luxury sedan, the company said, adding that it has obtained the type certificate from the Japanese transport ministry.
