子ども食堂開催、半数めど立たず　コロナ感染懸念で足踏み―支援団体調査

　新型コロナウイルスの影響で、地域の子どもに無料か安価で食事を提供する「子ども食堂」の半数近くで開催のめどが立っていないことが、支援団体の調査で分かった。担当者は「感染リスクを懸念して足踏みするケースが多い」と話す。
　ＮＰＯ法人「全国こども食堂支援センター・むすびえ」（東京）などが９月下旬に全国３４２の子ども食堂を対象にアンケート調査を実施した。
　それによると、一堂に会しての子ども食堂の開催について、「予定が立たない」と回答した割合は４８．０％で、同様の調査を行った６月に比べ９．３ポイント増加した。７～８月の感染再拡大が影響したとみられる。９月時点で開催したのは２４．０％、１０月から開催予定なのは６．１％だった。
　食堂運営に当たっての困りごとを問う項目では「感染防止の対応が難しい」が最も多かった。「クラスターが発生すれば誰からも守ってもらえないのでは」といった不安の声があるといい、支援活動は弁当や食材の配布が主になっている。
　アンケートをまとめたむすびえ理事の釜池雄高さんは「子ども食堂は子どもたちがつながるための居場所。今後、クリスマスなどスポット開催の機会が増えてくれば」と期待を寄せる。（2020/11/04-07:06）

Nearly half of "kodomo shokudo" eateries in Japan, which offer free or low-priced meals to children from families in need, have no prospects of restarting services amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to a survey.
   Many such eateries hesitate to reopen as they are concerned over infection risks, an official said.
   The survey was conducted by a Tokyo-based nongovernmental organization supporting kodomo shokudo and others in late September, covering 342 such eateries across the nation.
   According to the survey, 48.0 pct of all such eateries said they were uncertain about when they can gather children to offer meals, up 9.3 percentage points from the previous survey in June. The rise seems to reflect the resurgence of coronavirus infections in July and August.
   As of September, 24.0 pct of all kodomo shokudo were offering meal services, while 6.1 pct planned to reopen in October.
