愛知の知多製造所停止へ　市況低迷、コロナ追い打ち―ＥＮＥＯＳ

　石油元売り最大手ＥＮＥＯＳホールディングス（ＨＤ）の中核事業会社ＥＮＥＯＳは２７日、石油化学製品を造る知多製造所（愛知県知多市）の操業を、２０２１年１０月をめどに停止すると発表した。ペットボトルなどに使われる樹脂の原料となる主力製品パラキシレンは、中国の過剰生産などで市況が低迷。新型コロナウイルス感染拡大で需要増は期待できず、同製造所が赤字体質から脱却するのは困難と判断した。（2020/10/27-17:36）

Eneos to Halt Petrochemical Plant in Central Japan

Eneos Corp. said Tuesday that it will stop the operations of its petrochemical plant in the city of Chita, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, in October next year.
The plant mainly produces paraxylene, a key material of the resin used to make plastic bottles.
