自動運転バスで「分身」が案内　大阪・万博公園で実証実験

　三井物産やパナソニック、凸版印刷などは２１日午前、万博記念公園（大阪府吹田市）で２３日から行う自動運転サービスの実証実験を報道陣に公開した。電気自動車（ＥＶ）の自動運転バスを走らせながら、遠隔操作のアバター（分身）などを使って乗客を案内した。
　バスはパナソニックが開発中の透明ディスプレーを搭載。透過して見える風景と、画面に映し出されるアバターの案内映像を重ねて見ながら、移動する仕組み。１９７０年大阪万博のパビリオン跡地を巡るコースと、日本庭園ルートの二つがある。
　報道公開では、女性キャラクターのアバターが「どこから来ましたか」と問い掛けて乗客が答えるなど、対話する場面もあった。
　楽しみながら学べる新たな移動体験型サービスとして、２０２５年大阪万博での実用化を検討している。実証実験は１１月１６日まで。（2020/10/21-12:01）

Avatar-Guided Autonomous Bus Test Demonstrated in Osaka

A demonstration test of an autonomous driving bus was shown to media on Wednesday ahead of its start on Friday, with a remotely controlled avatar guiding passengers.
   The electric bus features a transparent display being developed by Panasonic Corp. .
   The test will be conducted by trading house Mitsui & Co. , Panasonic, Toppan Printing Co. and others at the Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, through Nov. 16.
   The bus will take two routes, including one visiting the site used for the pavilions of the 1970 World Exposition in Osaka.
   "Where did you come from?" an avatar of a female character asked a reporter in the media preview event.
