水素列車、２２年３月試験走行　愛称は「ひばり」―ＪＲ東・トヨタ・日立

　ＪＲ東日本は６日、トヨタ自動車、日立製作所と連携し、水素を燃料に走る列車の試験走行を２０２２年３月ごろに始めると発表した。試験は横浜、川崎両市を走る南武線などで３年程度実施し、その後の実用化を目指す。
　トヨタの燃料電池と、ブレーキ時に発生する電力などを蓄える日立のハイブリッドシステムを併用する仕組み。車両の愛称は、水素とハイブリッドの意味を込めて「ＨＹＢＡＲＩ（ひばり）」と決めた。（2020/10/06-20:31）

JR East to Begin Test Run of Hydrogen-Fueled Train in 2022

East Japan Railway Co. , or JR East, said Tuesday it will start a test run of a fuel cell train using hydrogen as fuel around March 2022, in cooperation with Toyota Motor Corp. and Hitachi Ltd. .
The company will aim to put the train into practical use after carrying out the test for about three years on some of its lines, including the Nanbu Line.
