日鉄、１１月に君津の高炉再稼働　自動車の需要回復

　日本製鉄は６日、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響に伴う鉄鋼需要の減少で一時休止している東日本製鉄所君津地区第２高炉（千葉県君津市）を、１１月下旬をめどに再稼働させると発表した。２０２０年度下半期にかけて、自動車分野などの需要の回復が見込まれるのが理由。
　君津地区は日鉄の主力生産拠点の一つ。９月末で完全休止とした九州製鉄所八幡地区小倉第２高炉（北九州市）を除く日鉄の国内高炉１４基のうち休止しているのは、改修中も含めると残り４基となる。
　君津第２に加え、改修中の室蘭製鉄所（北海道室蘭市）の高炉が１１月下旬に生産を再開すると、国内生産能力の８割程度まで製鉄所の稼働が回復する見込みだ。（2020/10/06-17:28）

Nippon Steel to Restart Key Blast Furnace in Late Nov.

Japan's Nippon Steel Corp. said Tuesday that it will restart in late November a key domestic blast furnace that has been suspended in response to a fall in demand due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
The resumption of operations at the No. 2 blast furnace in the Kimitsu Area of the company's East Nippon Works comes as demand from the automobile and other sectors is expected to recover in the latter half of fiscal 2020 to next March. The Kimitsu Area, in the city of Kimitsu, Chiba Prefecture, eastern Japan, is a major production base for the company.
