宿泊客増へ趣向凝らす　絶景や水上タクシー―都内ホテル

　政府の観光支援事業「Ｇｏ　Ｔｏ　トラベル」に１日から東京都発着の旅行が追加され、都内のホテルは多くの利用者を呼び込もうと趣向を凝らす。他ホテルとの差別化を図り、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大で低迷した宿泊需要回復を狙う。
　「東京雲海」と銘打ち、明治の元勲・山県有朋にちなんだ庭園に幽玄な空間を演出するのは「ホテル椿山荘東京」（文京区）。約２０００個のノズルで霧を発生させ、国の登録有形文化財「椿山荘三重塔」などが海のような雲に包まれる。
　同ホテルはコロナの影響で５月には開業以来初の休館を余儀なくされた。１日からは、部屋から雲海を見下ろせ、雲海をイメージしたケーキを食べられるプランなどを提供する。マーケティング支配人の真田あゆみさんは「不安や閉塞（へいそく）感にあふれた時代だが、この景色が１人でも多くの方の活力になれば」と語る。
　「プルマン東京田町」（港区）は、羽田空港に隣接する船着き場からホテル横の船着き場まで、貸し切りの水上タクシーで移動できるプランを設定した。公共交通機関を使わずに済むことや、ホテルから船着き場までの利便性などを踏まえ、副総支配人の柴田厚志さんは「他のホテルにはまねすることができない特徴が多数ある」と強調する。
　同ホテルでは今年１～８月の売り上げと稼働率が前年同時期と比べて約３分の１まで落ち込んだという。感染防止策を講じて利用者増に期待を寄せるが、「お客さまの数が増えれば当然感染リスクも上がるので、不安がないと言えばうそになる」（柴田さん）との声も漏れる。（2020/10/01-13:17）

Hotels in Tokyo are scrambling for ways to stand out from the competition and attract guests as Thursday marked the start of the Japanese capital's inclusion in the government-subsidized "Go To Travel" tourism promotion scheme.
   Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo in Bunkyo Ward is looking to appeal to customers with its "Sea of Clouds," in which roughly 2,000 nozzles spray mist into the hotel's garden, blanketing the Chinzanso three-story pagoda, a registered tangible cultural property, and other parts of the garden in a sea of clouds for a mystical atmosphere.
   In May, the hotel was forced to close temporarily for the first time since its opening due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
   From Thursday, guests staying at the hotel can look down at the cloudy park from their rooms and can enjoy cakes themed on the sea of clouds.
   "The times are filled with worries and despair, but I hope the view can make many people feel energized," Ayumi Sanada, the head of marketing for the hotel, said.
