エアアジア、日本事業断念を検討　コロナで業績悪化

　格安航空会社（ＬＣＣ）のエアアジア・ジャパン（愛知県常滑市）が、事業継続の断念を検討していることが３０日、分かった。新型コロナウイルス流行の影響で利用客が急減し、業績が悪化しているため。
　同社はマレーシアのＬＣＣ、エアアジアの傘下企業で２０１４年に設立された。中部空港を拠点に札幌、仙台、福岡の各都市を結ぶ国内３路線と、台北を結ぶ国際線を運航している。
　ただ、コロナの影響で４月上旬から全面運休した。８月に国内線を再開したが、搭乗率の低迷で１０月１日から再び全線で運航休止を予定。６月には希望退職を募集し、社員約３００人中、７０人弱が退職した。（2020/09/30-14:53）

Malaysian budget airline group AirAsia is considering pulling the plug on operations in Japan, due to a slump in passengers amid the coronavirus epidemic, informed sources said Wednesday.
AirAsia Japan currently operates domestic flights between Chubu Centrair International Airport near the central Japan city of Nagoya and each of the northern, northeastern and southwestern cities of Sapporo, Sendai and Fukuoka, respectively, as well as international flights between Centrair and Taipei.
