安倍前首相が靖国参拝　７年ぶり、退任「英霊に報告」

　自民党の安倍晋三前首相は１９日、東京・九段北の靖国神社を同日参拝したことを自身のツイッターで明らかにした。モーニング姿で昇殿して参拝する写真を添え、「１６日に首相を退任したことをご英霊にご報告致しました」と午前中に投稿した。安倍氏の靖国参拝は首相在任時の２０１３年１２月以来。
　安倍氏は第１次政権で参拝を見送ったことを「痛恨の極み」とし、第２次政権発足からちょうど１年の節目となった１３年１２月２６日に参拝。中国や韓国が猛反発し、当時のオバマ米政権も「失望」を表明した。
　それ以降、安倍氏は外交上の配慮を優先させ、春と秋の例大祭に祭具の「真榊（まさかき）」を、８月の終戦記念日に合わせて玉串料を、それぞれ毎年納めるにとどめてきた。首相の座から降りたことを受け、封印してきた宿願を果たした形だ。（2020/09/19-20:02）

Abe Visits War-Linked Yasukuni Shrine

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Saturday that he visited war-linked Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo on the day, after he left office earlier this week.
   Abe said on Twitter that he reported his resignation to the souls enshrined there, while uploading a photo of the shrine visit.
   Abe last visited the shrine on Dec. 26, 2013, the first anniversary of his return to power, provoking a fierce backlash from China and South Korea. Even then U.S. President Barack Obama expressed disappointment over the visit.
   No visit to the shrine by Abe had been confirmed since then. Instead, Abe had made ritual offerings during the shrine's spring and autumn festivals every year.
