観客、収容人員５０％まで引き上げ　政府の入場者数制限緩和受け―プロ野球

　日本野球機構（ＮＰＢ）は１２日、オンラインによる臨時実行委員会を開き、政府の新型コロナウイルス感染症対策分科会で示された大規模イベントの入場者数制限の段階的緩和方針に基づき、プロ野球は現在５０００人としている観客の上限を１９日の試合から各球場の収容人数の５０％以内まで引き上げることを決めた。各球団は所在地の自治体などと協議しながら、上限へ向けて段階的に増やしていく予定。
　ＮＰＢとサッカーＪリーグは８日に連名で「２万人または収容人員の５０％までの少ない方」とするよう求める要望書を西村康稔経済再生担当相に提出していた。政府の新たな方針に従うと、収容人員が４万人以上の球場は２万人以上を入れることが可能となる。
　斉藤惇プロ野球コミッショナーは「残り半分を切ったペナントレースを１人でも多くのファンの皆さまに楽しんでいただきたい。われわれの取り組みが来年に控えている東京五輪、パラリンピックの運営に少しでも寄与し、そのほかのスポーツイベントなどの開催指針となれば幸い」とコメントを出した。（2020/09/12-16:09）

Japan Pro Baseball to Raise Spectator Cap from Sept. 19

The Nippon Professional Baseball Organization, or NPB, decided on Saturday to raise the cap on the number of spectators of professional baseball games to 50 pct of stadium capacity from Sept. 19.
   Currently, the limit is set at 5,000 spectators per stadium.
   The new rule means a stadium with a capacity of 40,000 will be able to admit up to 20,000 spectators from the first day of the four-day weekend in Japan through Sept. 22.
   Professional baseball teams are expected to increase the number of spectators in stages while holding talks with local municipalities.
   The easing is in line with a government plan, presented at a meeting of a novel coronavirus expert team Thursday, to relax event restrictions introduced to reduce infection risks.
