９年半ぶり、古里の校舎に　原発事故当時の児童ら―福島・双葉町

　東京電力福島第１原発事故で全町避難を強いられた福島県双葉町で、事故当時に町立の小中学校に在籍していた児童生徒らが２２日、立ち入りできるようになった古里の校舎を約９年半ぶりに訪れた。友人との再会を喜び、教室での思い出を懐かしんだ。
　当時、双葉中２年だった会社員の井戸川直樹さん（２４）は幼なじみ２人と訪れ、机の中に入っていた教科書やノートを見て「懐かしい」と笑い合った。埼玉県への避難も経験したといい、「友人とバラバラになってしまった。みんなで卒業したかったという思いはある」と話した。
　双葉南小の教室には当時の児童のランドセルが並び、黒板には「３月１１日」の文字が残されていた。私物を引き取りに父親と訪れた大学３年の板倉優圭さん（２１）は、「教室は当時のまま変わっていないけど、『机や黒板はこんなに小さかったんだな』と思った」と話した。
　双葉町では３月、双葉駅周辺などの避難指示が解除されたが、大半は帰還困難区域に指定されている。ただ、放射線量が低下したことから同月に小中学校を含む一部区域で立ち入りが可能になった。（2020/08/22-20:43）

People who had been students of junior high and elementary schools in the town of Futaba, Fukushima Prefecture, at the time of the March 2011 nuclear accident visited the school buildings on Saturday, for the first time in nine and a half years.
   The town was fully evacuated in the wake of the tsunami-triggered accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.'s Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power station.
   In March this year, the evacuation order was lifted for some areas of the town. However, it is still prohibited in principle to visit most of the town.
   On Saturday, visitors to the Futaba junior high school building included corporate employee Naoki Idogawa, 24, and two of his old friends. They indulged in nostalgia after finding textbooks and notebooks left in classroom desks.
   The nuclear accident "brought us apart," said Idogawa, who fled to Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, after the accident. "I wanted to graduate together with my friends," he said.
