若者の門出、コロナが影　「夏の成人式」延期相次ぐ―リモートなどで開催の自治体も

　新型コロナウイルス感染拡大が若者の門出にも影を落としている。気候などに配慮し「成人の日」がある１月ではなく、８月に開かれる成人式。その多くが、延期や中止になっている。帰省自粛の風潮や高齢者の多い地域事情、新成人が集まりクラスター（感染者集団）となる恐れなどが要因だが、「延期しても先は見通せない」と工夫を凝らして開催に踏み切る自治体もある。
　７月末まで感染者ゼロで、現在も全国最少の岩手県。降雪の影響がなく、帰省に合わせて参加しやすいと、例年お盆時期に成人式を行ってきた９市町村は今年、いずれも開催を見送った。新成人の約４割が県外在住という平泉町の担当者は「どうにか開催できないか検討したが、県内でも感染者が出始めたことが決定打だった」と断念。先行きが見通せず、今後の対応も決まらないという。八幡平市も自粛を求める声を受け、来年の「成人の日」に変更したが、感染状況によっては再延期もあり得るとした。
　「ショックが隠しきれない」とツイッターに書き込んだのは新潟県に住む接客業の女性（２０）。本来５月だった式典が９月に延期され、さらに１１月への再延期が決まったという。取材に「２０歳の間にやりたかった。１１月だと２１歳になってしまう」と落胆を見せた。
　県内自治体の大半が来年１月以降に延期する中、予定日通りの開催を決めた長野県下條村。ただ、新成人のうち村を離れた約２０人には、ウイルスの有無を調べる抗原検査で陰性だったことを出席の条件とした。検査費用は村が負担。県外からは９人が検査を済ませ出席予定だ。串原良彦教育長は「中止は簡単だが、大切な節目がなくなる。あらゆる対策を取り開催にこぎつけた」と話した。ただ、出席率は例年より低く、オンライン視聴を選ぶ人もいたという。
　同県朝日村も就職や進学で村を出た人はリモート参加に限定した上で開催。ウェブ会議システムを使い、式の様子は地元ケーブルテレビの協力で詳しく中継。終了後はリモート参加者を交えた歓談会も開く。担当者は「延期してもできる保証はない。旧交を温め、縁をつなぐことも大切と考えた」と説明した。（2020/08/14-07:10）

The spread of the novel coronavirus has left many coming-of-age ceremonies scheduled for August postponed or canceled in Japan, ruining a key opportunity to celebrate a new chapter in life.
   In Japan, coming-of-age ceremonies are usually held on Coming-of-Age Day in January. But some communities choose different times of year due to cold winter climate and other reasons.
   Many municipalities decided to postpone or cancel ceremonies as the virus is raging, while a handful plans to go ahead, taking precautions against the disease.
   In the northeastern prefecture of Iwate, nine municipalities usually hold coming-of-age ceremonies during the Bon holiday period in mid-August to avoid the snow season and make it easier for new adults to attend.
   But the nine have canceled such events this year. In Iwate, no coronavirus case had been confirmed until the end of July and only a few positives have been found so far.
