群馬で４０．５度　今年初４０度超、埼玉でも―１２日も熱中症警戒

　日本列島は１１日、太平洋高気圧の影響で晴れ、関東を中心に気温が大幅に上がる所が多かった。気象庁によると、午後２時半すぎに群馬県伊勢崎市と桐生市で４０．５度を観測。埼玉県鳩山町では４０．２度を観測し、いずれも今年全国で初めて４０度を超えた。
　群馬県館林市で３９．９度、栃木県佐野市で３９．８度、東京都青梅市や茨城県古河市で３９．６度など、３９度台になる所も相次いだ。
　国内観測史上の最高気温は埼玉県熊谷市で２０１８年７月２３日に記録した４１．１度。４０．５度は地点別の順位で１３番目に並ぶ。
　気象庁は１２日についても北海道、東北、東海、近畿、四国、沖縄に高温注意情報を出したほか、関東と山梨県には環境省と試行中の熱中症警戒アラートを発表した。外出をなるべく避け、冷房を使うなどして熱中症を防ぐよう呼び掛けている。
　１１日午後６時までに３５度以上の猛暑日になったのは全国観測点の２割の２３０地点、３０度以上の真夏日は８割の７７８地点（猛暑日地点を含む）で、ともに今年最多。伊勢崎市、桐生市、鳩山町を含め、観測史上最高気温を更新する地点が続出した。
　この記録的高温は、太平洋高気圧に覆われて晴れる日が続いているほか、上空で大陸からのチベット高気圧の張り出しもあり、暖かい空気に覆われているのが要因。北海道では前線を伴う低気圧が日本海側を北上したため、オホーツク海側などに暖かく湿った空気が流れ込み、今年初めて猛暑日になった。（2020/08/11-19:20）

Temperatures rose to as high as 40.4 degrees Celsius in the city of Isesaki, Gunma Prefecture, eastern Japan, on Tuesday, setting the highest level so far this year in the country, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
   The reading was marked at 1:55 p.m. (4:55 a.m. GMT), according to the agency. In the town of Hatoyama, Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo and adjacent to Gunma, the mercury hit 40.2 degrees.
   The temperature topped 40 degrees for the first time in Japan this year.
   Scorching summer heat hit many other areas of Japan as well, with Hachioji in Tokyo marking a reading of 39.3 degrees and some areas in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido seeing the mercury reaching 35 degrees or higher for the first time this year.
   The agency issued high-temperature warnings in most areas in the country and heatstroke alerts under a new system in the Kanto eastern region, including Tokyo, and Yamanashi Prefecture, west of the capital. The agency and the Environment Ministry are currently testing the new heatstroke warning system.
