人口自然減、初の５０万人超　出生率は４年連続減―１９年生まれ最少８６万人

　厚生労働省は５日、２０１９年の人口動態統計を公表した。死亡数から出生数を引いた人口自然減は５１万５８６４人で、初めて５０万人を超えた。１人の女性が生涯に産む子どもの推計人数を示す「合計特殊出生率」は１．３６で、前年を０．０６ポイント下回り、４年連続で低下した。政府は出生率を２５年度までに１．８に引き上げる目標を掲げるが、達成は一段と厳しさを増している。
　厚労省の担当者は「１８年の婚姻件数が前年比３．４％減で戦後最少だったことが、１９年の出生率低下につながったとみられる。子育ての不安や経済的問題を取り除くことが重要だ」と指摘した。
　出生数は８６万５２３４人（前年比５万３１６６人減）で、４年連続で過去最少を更新した。２５～３９歳の女性人口が減っており、厚労省は今後も減少傾向は続くとみている。死亡数は戦後最多の１３８万１０９８人（同１万８６２８人増）だった。
　自然減は０５年に初めて発生し、０７年以降は減少幅が毎年拡大。１９年は前年より７万１７９４人拡大した。
　出生率を母親の５歳ごとの年齢層別でみると、全年齢層で前年より減少した。最も高かったのは３０代前半で、２０代後半が続いた。第１子出産時の母親の平均年齢は３０．７歳だった。
　都道府県別の出生率は沖縄１．８２が最も高く、次いで宮崎１．７３、島根１．６８の順だった。最低は東京の１．１５で、宮城１．２３、北海道１．２４と続いた。
　結婚したカップルは５９万８９６５組で、前年より１万２４８４組増えた。増加は７年ぶりで、厚労省は「改元に合わせた『令和婚』が増えた結果では」と分析している。平均初婚年齢は男性３１．２歳、女性２９．６歳で、ともに過去最も高かった。（2020/06/05-15:43）

Japan's natural population decline, or the number of deaths minus that of births, came to 515,864 in 2019, surpassing the 500,000 mark for the first time, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said Friday.
   The figure was up 71,794 from the preceding year. Japan saw the annual number of deaths topping that of births for the first time in 2005 and the natural population decline has been expanding since 2007.
   The number of births fell 53,166 to 865,234, posting a record low for the fourth straight year. With the number of women aged 25-39 falling, the ministry expects that the number of births in the country will stay on a declining streak.
   The number of deaths was up 18,628 at 1,381,098, the highest figure since the end of World War II in 1945.
   The nation's total fertility rate, or the average number of children a woman is expected to give birth to in her lifetime, slid 0.06 point to 1.36, down for the fourth straight year. It now appears to be more difficult to meet the government's goal of raising the rate to 1.8 by fiscal 2025.
