佐藤しのぶさん死去=ソプラノ歌手、61歳

 ソプラノ歌手として国内外で活躍した声楽家の佐藤しのぶ(さとう・しのぶ)さんが9月29日、死去した。61歳だった。東京都出身。葬儀は近親者で済ませた。後日、お別れの会を開く。
 国立音楽大卒後、1984年に文化庁オペラ研修所を首席で卒業。同年、オペラ「椿姫」の主役でデビューした。ウラディーミル・アシュケナージら欧米の著名な指揮者やオーケストラと多数共演し、「蝶々夫人」などで人気を集めた。CDや書籍の収益を途上国や被災地に寄付するなど慈善活動にも積極的だった。(2019/10/03-13:11)

Japanese Soprano Singer Shinobu Sato Dies at 61


Shinobu Sato, a critically acclaimed Japanese soprano singer who performed both domestically and internationally, passed away on Sunday at the age of 61.
   Her funeral was attended by close relatives, and a farewell party is planned for a later date.
   The Tokyo-born Kunitachi College of Music alumna completed a training program for opera artists run by the Cultural Affairs Agency at the top of her class in 1984. She debuted in the starring role for the opera "La Traviata" the same year.
   Sato found acclaim through numerous performances alongside renowned conductors and orchestras, such as Russia's Vladimir Ashkenazy, as well as her performances in the opera "Madama Butterfly."
   She was also active in charity efforts, donating revenue from sales of her compact discs and books to developing countries and areas struck by natural disasters.
