米くら寿司、公的支援金返還　「中小企業でない」と批判も

　【ニューヨーク時事】回転ずしチェーンを運営するくら寿司の米国法人は２２日、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で打撃を受けた中小企業向けの公的支援金約６００万ドル（約６億５０００万円）を返還する方針を明らかにした。申請が殺到して当初の予算が枯渇したため、規模の大きい上場企業などの制度利用に批判が強まっている。
　一部米メディアは、くら寿司が米国内で２５店舗を展開し、２４００万ドルの手元資金があるとして「中小企業とは言えない」などと批判。同社が米ナスダック市場に株式を上場していることにも触れ、「株式の発行で多くの資金を調達することができる」と指摘した。（2020/04/23-11:08）

Revolving sushi restaurant chain Kura Sushi USA Inc. will return 6 million dollars it received under a U.S. federal loan program for small businesses hit by the coronavirus outbreak, officials said Wednesday.
The U.S. unit of Japan's Kura Sushi Inc. decided on the move after facing criticism for seeking the financial support under the Paycheck Protection Program, which ran out of its initial funds amid a flood of applications.
