レジメーカー大わらわ＝増産急ピッチ、高額機に人気－消費税率引き上げで

　消費税率の引き上げが１０月１日に迫る中、レジメーカーが急ピッチで増産を進めている。飲食料品を扱う小売業者から、軽減税率対応レジの注文が６月以降、急増しているためだ。９月末までに購入契約を結べば、後で国の補助金をもらえるケースもあり、「これまで使っていたレジと比べ、機能の多い高額の機種に人気が集まっている」（大手メーカー）という。
　個人商店向けなどで使われる比較的安価な電子レジを手掛けるカシオ計算機は「生産計画を前倒ししている」（広報担当者）と指摘。大手スーパーマーケットやコンビニエンスストアに高機能製品を中心に納入するシャープも、夏場から生産台数を前年と比べ２倍に増やしている。
　経済産業省によると、軽減税率対応レジの導入が必要となる事業者数は約２３万３０００店。これに対し、増税前までに約２４万台を供給できる見通しという。東京都台東区にある個人経営のスーパーは従来製品より高額のレジを購入。店員の男性は「これで問題なく軽減税率に対応できる」と話した。
　ただ、人気のある製品は、生産が追い付かず品薄状態。「増税される１０月１日に納入が間に合わないケースがある」（レジメーカー関係者）といい、小売店は高機能レジを待つかどうか、ぎりぎりまで頭を悩ませることになりそうだ。（2019/09/25-07:13）

Cash register makers in Japan have been revving up production ahead of the Oct. 1 hike in the consumption tax, which will force some retailers to deal with two different tax rates.
   Orders for cash registers that can handle the two different tax rates, 8 pct for food products and beverages and 10 pct for other products and services, have increased sharply since June from retailers dealing with food products and beverages.
   "Expensive models with a wider variety of functions are more popular," an official of a major cash register maker said.
   That may be partly because of a government subsidy program for which contracts to buy cash registers need to be concluded by the end of this month, officials said.
   "We're moving up our production plan," said a public relations official of Casio Computer Co. , which makes relatively inexpensive models mainly for small, independent shops.
