静岡知事選、新人６氏の争いに　与野党対決、リニア争点

　静岡県の川勝平太知事の辞職に伴う知事選が９日告示され、午後５時に立候補の届け出を締め切った結果、同県知事選では過去最多となる新人６氏による争いが確定した。１５年ぶりの新人対決で、県が着工を認めていないリニア中央新幹線静岡工区への対応が主な争点。与野党対決の構図となる。投開票は２６日。
　立候補したのは、諸派で元会社員の横山正文氏（５６）、共産党公認で党県委員長の森大介氏（５５）、無所属で前浜松市長の鈴木康友氏（６６）＝立憲民主、国民民主推薦、無所属で同県副知事を務めた元総務官僚の大村慎一氏（６０）＝自民推薦、無所属で自営業の村上猛氏（７３）、無所属で会社社長の浜中都己氏（６２）。
　リニア工事を巡り県は、大井川の水量減少や南アルプスの生態系への影響を懸念している。横山氏は「当選後は、リニア工事の許可を出す準備に取りかかる」と主張し、森氏は「必要性が乏しい」と中止を求める。鈴木氏は「課題を克服して前進させる」と強調。大村氏も「大井川の水と環境を守って前に進める。スピード感をもって１年以内に結果を出す」と訴える。
　村上氏は「事業として成り立っていない」とし、浜中氏は工事で影響が出た場合の補償を求めている。（2024/05/09-17:17）

Six people filed their candidacies for the May 26 gubernatorial election in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, on Thursday, with voters expected to focus on the candidates' responses to the planned Chuo Shinkansen magnetic levitation line.
   The six include Shinichi Omura, 60 a former deputy governor of Shizuoka who is backed by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Yasutomo Suzuki, 66, former mayor of the city of Hamamatsu in the prefecture supported by the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan and the Democratic Party for the People, and Daisuke Mori, 55, prefectural chairman of the Japanese Communist Party.
   The other three are former company employee Masafumi Yokoyama, 56, home business owner Takeshi Murakami, 73, and company president Satomi Hamanaka, 62.
   Among other major parties, Komeito, the LDP's junior coalition partner, has not endorsed any candidate.
   The election comes after Governor Heita Kawakatsu abruptly announced his resignation early last month, following his latest gaffe. Kawakatsu had refused to approve the start of construction of the maglev line in Shizuoka.
