半導体研究で新団体　「後工程」、２８年実用化へ―米インテルなど

　米インテルとオムロンなど１５社は７日、半導体を最終製品に組み立てる「後工程」の研究開発を行う新団体を設立したと発表した。後工程の自動化や省力化に必要な装置の開発や実証を進め、２０２８年の実用化を目指す。経済産業省からの補助金支給も見込んでおり、官民一丸となって半導体の研究開発を加速させる。
　新団体は「半導体後工程自動化・標準化技術研究組合」。先月１６日に設立し、インテル日本法人の鈴木国正社長が理事長に就任した。シャープやヤマハ発動機、信越ポリマー、レゾナック・ホールディングスなどが参画している。（2024/05/07-14:30）

Intel Corp., Japanese electrical equipment maker Omron Corp. and 13 other companies said Tuesday that they have formed a new organization for research and development on the latter-half process of semiconductor manufacturing.
The Semiconductor Assembly Test Automation and Standardization Research Association, or SATAS, will develop and test equipment needed to automate the latter-half process and save power, with the goal of putting it into practical use in 2028.
