寒ブリ６００匹、珠洲で初水揚げ　漁師ら「被災地に元気を」―港被害も早期再開・能登地震

　石川県珠洲市の蛸島漁港に２２日未明、活気が久しぶりに戻った。最大震度７を観測した能登半島地震の影響で、港は大きな被害を受けたが、突貫工事で整備。市内の漁港では今年初めてとなる漁で寒ブリ約６００匹が水揚げされた。「被災地に元気を」「こんなものじゃない」。漁師たちの言葉に熱がこもった。
　２１日深夜、甲板に冷たい雨が打ち付ける中、現場を取り仕切る田川長蔵さん（３７）が乗船した「第三十一長久丸」など２社の漁船計４隻が相次ぎ港を出た。目指すは昨年末に定置網を仕掛けた沖合。田川さんらは前日の調査で魚が網に掛かっているのを確認したが、機械トラブルで水揚げは断念し、満を持しての出港となった。
　２２日未明、４隻がほぼそろって帰港すると、漁師たちが次々と下船し、慌ただしく作業が始まった。「もっと入れろ」「次、次」。田川さんらの声が響き、生きのいい寒ブリが詰まった網をクレーンで持ち上げてはフォークリフトで運んだ。
　もう一社の「第一八幡丸」の船頭、端名哲士さん（５９）は、避難中に母かず子さん（８７）を亡くした。「少しでも魚を揚げて、被災地が活気づけば」との思いから、船首に立った。
　この日の水揚げは「普段より少ない」（田川さん）計約６００匹にとどまった。それでも漁師の多くが定置網漁の早期再開にこだわった。
　蛸島は、年間十数億円の水揚げ高のある市内最大の漁港。大型漁船も寄港できる岸壁の多くは、地震で船が近づけないほど剥がれ落ちた。県漁業協同組合すず支所参事の山崎幸治さん（６１）によると「ほぼ壊滅状態で、とても漁なんて考えられなかった」。
　県内では少なくとも漁船２３３隻が津波で転覆や沈没、流出するなどし、珠洲市内は１０５隻を数える。田川さんら一部の漁師は倒壊で家を失ったが、蛸島漁港は深刻な津波被害を免れ、漁船は無事だった。
　出漁に向けて、港と主要道を結ぶ道路の亀裂は、漁業支援者らが応急工事で整備。断水で製氷できないため、金沢市から運び込んだ。
　この日捕れた寒ブリは、直ちにトラックで金沢市内の市場に運ばれた。「まだまだこんなものじゃない。今後はもっと捕れるはず」。田川さんはこう力を込めた。（2024/01/22-20:31）

Winter yellowtail were landed at a port in central Japan on Monday, as hustle and bustle returned to the port damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day.
   Activity resumed at Takojima port in the city of Suzu, Ishikawa Prefecture, thanks to rush repair work after the port was badly damaged by the earthquake, which registered up to 7, the highest on Japan's seismic intensity scale.
   In the early hours of Monday, around 600 winter yellowtail were landed at the port after the first fishing trip from the port this year.
   Four ships of two fishing companies left the port late Sunday night for waters where fixed nets were set up late last year, while cold rain pelted down on the decks.
   The day before, Chozo Tagawa, 37, and others on the ships had confirmed that fish had been caught in the net traps, but they decided not to land the fish at that time because of mechanical problems.
