宮邸改修「説明不十分だった」　秋篠宮さま５８歳に

　秋篠宮さまは３０日、５８歳の誕生日を迎えられた。これに先立ち、赤坂御用地（東京都港区）内の赤坂東邸で記者会見し、３０億円余りを要した秋篠宮邸の改修は「説明が不十分だった」と述べた。
　その上で、皇室の情報発信について「自分のことがタイムリーじゃなかった。大切な情報をタイムリーに発信していくことは、大変大事」と強調した。
　増築した面積の内訳について、ご一家を支える宮内庁皇嗣職が使う事務部分が６６％、公的な仕事をする公室部分が２９％で、私室部分は５％だったと説明。「三つの区分けが明確ではなかった」と述べ、国民に理解を求めた。
　次女佳子さまや、長女小室眞子さん（２０２１年１０月に皇籍離脱）とは、いずれは結婚により宮邸を離れるとして、改修工事が始まる時に「部屋を用意すること自体が無駄になる」との認識を共有。宮邸に二人の部屋は設けなかったと明かした。
　仮住まい先だった建物に佳子さまが一人で残っていることなどは同庁が今年６月に公表。秋篠宮さまは「（昨）年度末に出せば良かった」と述べつつ、「意見集約に時間が掛かった。タイミングとして遅くなったのが反省点」と語った。
　国内外で公的な活動をする佳子さまを「非常に一生懸命取り組んでいる」と評価。高校２年の長男悠仁さまは「学校以外の多くの時間を机の前に座っている状況」と紹介し、卒業後の進路は「本人が何をしたいかが一番大事」と話した。
　この１年を振り返り、人々の活動がコロナ禍の前に近い形になってきたことは「大変喜ばしいこと」と述べた。（2023/11/30-00:17）

Japan's Crown Prince Akishino admitted that explanations about the 3-billion-yen renovation of his family's residence in Tokyo's Minato Ward were inadequate, at a press conference ahead of his 58th birthday on Thursday.
   The Crown Prince, the younger brother of Emperor Naruhito, said that it was "very important to release important information in a timely manner."
   He explained that of the expanded area of the residence, 66 pct is for offices of Imperial Household Agency staff who work for his family, 29 pct for his official business room, and 5 pct for the family's private quarters.
   He added that the residence does not include rooms for his two daughters, Mako Komuro, who left the Imperial Family upon her marriage in October 2021, and Princess Kako, based on their consensus that it would be wasteful to create such rooms.
   In June this year, the agency announced that Princess Kako had not moved into the renovated residence and remained alone in a building where the family had temporarily lived.
