３月訪日客、コロナ前６６％水準　１８１万人、回復に力強さ―政府観光局

　日本政府観光局が１９日発表した３月の訪日外国人数（推計値）は、前年同月比約２７倍の１８１万７５００人となった。２月（約１４７万人）から大幅に伸び、新型コロナウイルス禍前の２０１９年３月との比較では６５．８％の水準まで持ち直した。アジアに加え、米欧豪や中東地域からの訪日客増加が全体を押し上げた。
　桜のシーズンを迎え、訪日需要が高まったことや、国際クルーズ船の運航再開も寄与した。中国政府による訪日旅行制限の影響で低迷が続く中国（香港・マカオ以外）を除けば、回復率は８４．２％に達した。昨年秋の大幅な水際対策緩和後の回復が力強さを増してきた。
　国・地域別の訪日客数は、韓国が４６万６８００人と最多で、台湾（２７万８９００人）、米国（２０万３０００人）、香港（１４万４９００人）と続いた。米国は１９年３月比１５．０％増。英国やドイツ、イタリア、スペインはそれぞれ約１０～１５％減まで回復した。コロナ禍前に全体の３割程度を占めた中国は８９．０％減の７万５７００人にとどまっている。（2023/04/19-18:47）

The estimated number of foreign visitors to Japan in March stood at 1,817,500, totaling 65.8 pct of the number four years ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Japan National Tourism Organization said in a report released on Wednesday.
   The number logged a 27-fold increase from a year before and surged from some 1.47 million in February.
   The rise was led by growth in the number of visitors from other parts of Asia, the United States, Europe and Australia, as well as the Middle East. Demand for trips to Japan rose thanks to the cherry blossom season and the resumption of operations of international cruise ships calling at Japanese ports.
   The latest report showed that the pace of recovery in the number of visitors to Japan following the country's drastic easing of border controls in autumn last year has been picking up lately.
