インドネシア・ジャワ島スメル山噴火　警戒レベル最高、日本に一時津波の恐れ

　【ジャカルタ時事】４日午前２時４５分（日本時間同日午前４時４５分）ごろ、インドネシアのジャワ島にあるスメル山（３６７６メートル）で大規模な噴火が発生した。インドネシア政府は警戒レベルを最高の「４」とし、警戒を呼び掛けた。９０人以上が避難したが、死者やけが人は確認されていない。
　日本の気象庁は一時、沖縄県宮古島・八重山地方にも津波が到達する恐れがあると公表、警戒を続けていた。しかし、日本時間４日午後６時の時点で「この地震による日本への津波の影響はない」と宣言した。
　地元の報道によれば、噴煙の高さは約１５００メートル。国家災害対策庁は、山頂から半径約５キロ以内に近づかないよう住民らに求めた。溶岩が流れて来る可能性があるとして、川岸からも５００メートル以上離れるよう注意を促した。
　スメル山はジャワ島で標高が最も高い山で、ちょうど１年前の昨年１２月４日にも噴火。噴煙が麓の集落を襲い５０人以上が死亡、数千人が避難を強いられた。（2022/12/04-18:26）

Japan Checking Possibility of Tsunami after Java Eruption

The Japan Meteorological Agency said Sunday it is looking into the possibility of a tsunami hitting the country after a volcanic eruption that occurred on the island of Java, Indonesia, in the morning the same day.
The agency said if a tsunami is generated as a result of the eruption, it is feared to reach the Miyakojima-Yaeyama region in Okinawa Prefecture, southernmost Japan, on Sunday afternoon.
The volcano, Mount Semeru, also erupted on Dec. 4 last year. At the time, volcanic fumes hit a village at the foot of the mountain, killing more than 10 people and forcing over 1,000 people to evacuate.
