病床使用率、全国で急上昇　２０都府県で５０％超える―医療体制の逼迫懸念・新型コロナ

　新型コロナウイルスの流行「第７波」により、各地で病床使用率が急上昇している。既に２０都府県で５０％以上に上昇し、４県では７０％以上となった。専門家からは医療体制の逼迫（ひっぱく）を懸念する声も上がっており、行動制限に慎重な政府は難しいかじ取りを迫られそうだ。
　内閣官房によると、２７日時点で病床使用率が最も高かったのは沖縄県の８８％。神奈川県（７４％）、静岡県（７４％）、和歌山県（７０％）などと続き、９県で６０％を超えている。
　病床使用率を引き上げているのが、オミクロン株の派生型「ＢＡ．５」による感染者の増加だ。２８日に全国で確認された新規感染者は２３万人を超え、２日連続で過去最多を更新した。
　都道府県別の新規感染者を２週間前（１４日）と比べると、３７都道府県で２倍以上に増加し、８道県では３倍以上となった。厚生労働省によると、この２週間で全国の重症者は１００人から３４６人に増えている。
　厚労省に新型コロナ対策を助言する専門家組織で座長を務める脇田隆字・国立感染症研究所長は「医療提供体制が厳しい状況になっている」と指摘。今後は重症者数や死者数の増加が見込まれるとした。
　病床不足が現実味を帯びる中、大阪府が重症化リスクの高い高齢者に対し不要不急の外出自粛を求めるなど、独自の取り組みを始めた自治体もある。一方、政府は緊急事態宣言などの行動制限には慎重な姿勢で、医療体制の確保と経済活動の両立に向け、厳しい局面を迎えている。（2022/07/29-13:57）

The occupancy rates for hospital beds for novel coronavirus patients are rising sharply in many parts of Japan amid the rapid spread of the highly contagious BA.5 omicron subvariant.
   The occupancy rates have already reached 50 pct or over in 20 of the country's 47 prefectures, with four prefectures seeing their rates standing at 70 pct or higher.
   With experts expressing concern over strains on medical care systems, the Japanese government is expected to face difficult decisions on how to handle the situation although it is currently cautious about imposing restrictions on people's movements.
   As of Wednesday, the southernmost Japan prefecture of Okinawa had the highest COVID-19 hospital bed occupancy rate, at 88 pct, followed Kanagawa, at 74 pct, Shizuoka, at 74 pct, and Wakayama, at 70 pct, according to the Cabinet Secretariat.
   On Thursday, new COVID-19 infections confirmed across the country exceeded 230,000 to hit a record high for the second straight day.
