日米財務相、為替安定へ緊密に意思疎通　ロシア制裁「着実に実施」

　【ワシントン時事】訪米中の鈴木俊一財務相は２１日午後（日本時間２２日早朝）、ワシントンでイエレン米財務長官と会談した。鈴木財務相は終了後の記者会見で、急激な円安・ドル高が進む為替相場について議論したとし、「日米通貨当局で緊密に意思疎通を図っていくことを確認した」と明らかにした。
　両者が対面で会談するのは初めて。鈴木財務相は直近の円相場に関して、イエレン長官に「急激であることを数字を示して説明した」と話した。
　外国為替市場では、日米の金利差拡大を意識した円安・ドル高が急速に進行。円相場は今週に入って一時１ドル＝１２９円台と約２０年ぶりの安値を付けた。会談では、為替相場は「市場において決定される」「過度の変動や無秩序な動きは経済や金融の安定に悪影響を与える」といった先進７カ国（Ｇ７）の合意を改めて確認した。
　また、対ロシア制裁の「着実な実施」についても認識を共有。鈴木財務相は追加制裁の可能性について、「今後の状況と今の制裁の効果を見極めないといけない」と述べた上で、「Ｇ７をはじめとする国際社会と足並みをそろえていく」と強調した。（2022/04/22-11:19）

Japan, U.S. Agree to Communicate Closely for Forex Stability

Japanese Minister of Finance Shunichi Suzuki said Thursday that he has agreed with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on closer bilateral communication for foreign exchange market stabilization.
   Suzuki and Yellen met in Washington and discussed the yen's rapid weakening against the dollar, Suzuki told a press conference.
   "We've confirmed that the Japanese and U.S. currency authorities will communicate with each other closely in accordance with an agreement on currencies among the Group of Seven advanced nations," Suzuki said.
   Suzuki said he gave numbers to explain to Yellen how rapid the recent movements of foreign exchange rates have been.
   The dollar rose to 20-year highs above 129 yen this week.
