病床使用率５０．７％　緊急事態要請には慎重―東京都

　東京都は１日、新型コロナウイルスの病床使用率が５０．７％になったと発表した。政府に緊急事態宣言の発出要請を検討する目安となる５０％を超えた。ただ、小池百合子知事は「病床の使用率の中でも重症、中等症をよく見ていく必要がある」としており、軽症者が多い現時点での要請には慎重姿勢を示す。医療提供体制の逼迫（ひっぱく）状況を見極め、対応を検討する考えだ。
　小池氏は同日夜、記者団に対して「感染は止める、社会は止めない。命と暮らしを守る」と改めて強調。特に、施設内感染が相次いでいる高齢者施設や学校への対策を検討していることを明らかにした。
　「病床使用率５０％」は、５段階の感染指標のうち、緊急事態に相当する「レベル３」への移行を都道府県が判断する目安として、昨年１１月に政府が示した。変異株「オミクロン株」の流行前に策定されたもののため、都は宣言発出の基準を見直すよう求めている。
　同株の拡大で入院患者数は一気に増えたが、軽症者が多いのが特徴だ。都の基準による重症者は２月１日時点で２９人。昨年８月の「第５波」ピーク時（２９７人）の１０分の１にとどまる。（2022/02/01-23:31）

The Tokyo metropolitan government said Tuesday that the hospital bed occupancy rate for COVID-19 patients in the Japanese capital has reached 50.7 pct, exceeding the 50 pct threshold for Tokyo to ask the central government to issue a COVID-19 state of emergency.
   Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, however, has pointed to the need to watch closely the bed occupancy rate of severely ill patients and those with moderate COVID-19 symptoms.
   With most hospital beds currently filled with patients with mild symptoms, Koike has expressed reluctance to ask the central government to place Tokyo under a state of emergency.
   She is planning to consider what actions she will take after looking at how strained the medical care system is.
   The bed occupancy rate of 50 pct is a rough guidepost used by prefectural governments to decide whether to raise their novel coronavirus alert to Level 3, which indicates that they are in a state of emergency, under the Japanese government's new five-tier alert system announced in November.
