立民新代表、３０日選出　参院選へ立て直し焦点

　立憲民主党は１２日、両院議員総会を国会内で開き、枝野幸男代表の辞任を承認した。枝野氏の後継を選出する代表選を１９日告示、３０日投開票の日程で行うことを確認。次期代表選びが本格化する。来年夏の参院選に向け、態勢をどう立て直すかが最大の焦点となる。
　席上、枝野氏は先の衆院選で議席を公示前の１１０から９６に減らしたことを踏まえ、「私の選挙戦術、そこに至る党運営の力不足だ」と陳謝。「新しい代表の下で必ず政権を獲得し、私たちの目指す社会をつくっていく」と結束を訴えた。
　枝野氏が進めた共産党を含む野党共闘は、支持組織の連合や非自民の保守層の離反を招いたとして、党内に異論が根強い。党の実権を枝野氏や福山哲郎幹事長ら旧民主党政権幹部が握り続けたことにも反発があり、代表選は野党共闘路線の継続の是非や世代交代が主な争点となりそうだ。（2021/11/12-18:53）

The major opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan said Friday that it will hold an election on Nov. 30 to choose its new leader to succeed Yukio Edano.
   CDP lawmakers approved Edano's resignation on Friday. He stepped down after the party reduced its number of seats in the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of parliament, to 96 from 110 in the Oct. 31 election.
   Speaking at a general meeting of CDP lawmakers, Edano apologized for the loss of Lower House seats, attributing it to his lack of ability to steer elections and party affairs.
   Critics say Edano's pursuit of an alliance with other opposition parties led to the defeat in the Lower House election. "Under a new leader, we'll take power and create a society that we aim for," he said.
   Lower House member Hiroshi Ogushi, 56, and Junya Ogawa, 50, former parliamentary vice internal affairs minister, have expressed an eagerness to run in the CDP leadership election.
