参院、バリアフリー化へ施設改修　与野党合意、中央玄関に昇降機

　参院の与野党議員でつくるバリアフリー化推進プロジェクトチーム（ＰＴ）は２日、国会の中央玄関脇の階段に昇降機を新設するなどの施設整備案について、早期に実現を目指すことで合意した。すべての改修には約９億円が必要となる見込みで、２０１９年度補正予算案などへの計上を目指す。
　ＰＴが合意したのは１４項目。本会議場で、大型車いすを使って議員席から演壇に行くため、取り外し可能なスロープの新設や、参院正面玄関に昇降機を設置することなど。参院分館の傍聴席も大型車いすに対応できるよう改修する。
　施設整備案は与党がまとめ、各党はいずれも緊急性が高いと判断した。（2019/12/02-19:23）

A nonpartisan group of House of Councillors lawmakers Monday agreed on the early completion of renovation work to improve barrier-free access in the upper chamber of the Diet, Japan's parliament.
   Some 900 million yen is expected to be necessary to carry out all items in the renovation plan. The Upper House barrier-free promotion project team hopes to include related costs in an upcoming draft supplementary budget for fiscal 2019.
   The team agreed on 14 items, including the establishment of a removable ramp in the main chamber where plenary meetings are held, so that disabled lawmakers can go to the podium from benches using a large wheelchair, and the introduction of a wheelchair lift at the Upper House's main entrance.
   Renovation work will also take place for gallery seats in the Upper House committee room annex to accommodate large wheelchairs.
   The draft of the plan was written by the ruling bloc. Both the ruling and opposition sides see an urgent need to discuss the plan.
